‘A Journey in Hope – Commemorating The Easter Rising & The Battle of The Somme’
Members of the Mid Ulster Clergy Forum, in partnership with Mid Ulster District Council, launched their ‘Journey in Hope’ series of talks last week at Ranfurly House, Dungannon.
The forum are inviting the public to take part in a journey, to reflect and commemorate on a period of history that has relevance to lives today.
There will be four talks and each will focus on a different theme:
Tuesday, 16 February – Does God take sides
Tuesday, 23 February – Does violence bring peace
Tuesday, 1 March – Is blood sacrifice necessary
Tuesday, 8 March – How might we remember
The talks commence at 7.30pm at the Glenavon Hotel Cookstown and will be addressed by Dr Johnston McMaster and Dr Cathy Higgins of the Irish School of Ecumenics.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to reflect and consider four questions relating to ethical commemoration and remembrance.
