Organised by the PSNI in conjunction with Dungannon United Youth, the six week programme is being funded by the Mid Ulster Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) and is designed to divert 12 to 18 year olds from the temptation to engage in low level anti-social behaviour.
“Young people are more at risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour when they have little or nothing to do,” said Councillor Phelim Gildernew, Chair of the PCSP. “This programme not only gives them a positive activity on a Friday evening, but also gives them the opportunity to be physically active and to socialise with other young people. I’m pleased the Partnership is able to support the initiative.”
Midnight Soccer takes place at Dungannon United Youth football ground, Black Lane, Dungannon, every Friday until 11 March from 8.00pm to 10.30pm and is open to any young person aged between 12 and 18.
