The DigiKids Club, which operates throughout Mid Ulster, is proving very popular thanks to its fun and innovative approach to new technology learning.
Workshops allow children to experience animation, visit the moon using the green screen and even have a go at making their own Morph!
Proprietor Louise Girvan is extremely thankful to the Mid Ulster Start Programme. She said: “The support I received was invaluable. It was a great opportunity to get another business perspective from my mentor, and my business plan has enabled me to approach funders for further assistance.”
The Mid Ulster Business Start Programme is a joint initiative between Mid Ulster District Council and the Mid Ulster Enterprise Partnership. The programme aims to encourage potential new starts to produce a business plan as one of the key early steps to starting their new business and moving into self-employment, and will provide tailored advisory and training support to individuals at this critical start-up stage.
Just recently launched, the programme has already seen a number of new entrepreneurs who have taken advantage of the local support on offer.
Councillor Dominic Molloy, Chair of the Council’s Development Committee, congratulated The DigiKids Club on taking part in the new Council-funded Programme. “It’s fantastic to see such a worth-while and innovative new business benefit from the Mid Ulster Business Start Programme. This is exactly what the programme aims to do and I look forward to hearing many more local success stories in the future!”
Denise Murtagh, Business Development Manager of Dungannon Enterprise Centre (Mid Ulster Enterprise Partnership lead), added, “It’s always a pleasure to support any new business but it’s particularly special when you can support someone who is passionate about making a difference in people’s lives – and this is exactly what Louise from The DigiKids Club is up to.”
The Programme is being delivered by Mid Ulster Enterprise Partnership (a consortium led by Dungannon Enterprise Centre, with Cookstown Enterprise Centre and Workspace Ltd).
Recruitment to the Mid Ulster Business Start Programme is open for applications. If you have a new business idea please contact: Lucy McCreesh at Dungannon Enterprise Centre on 028 8772 3489.
